Safety Guidelines
The one page on this site we'd actually like you to read.
Everything else on this site is boilerplate. This page isn't — riding an ADV bike down a route someone posted on the internet carries real risk, so a few genuinely-meant points:
Routes aren't verified
A GPX file or route map posted here reflects one person's ride on one day. Conditions change — washouts, closures, weather, a gate that wasn't there last season. Nothing on this site guarantees a route is currently passable, legal, or a good idea for your bike and skill level. Check current conditions yourself before you go.
Ride within your limits
Group rides move at the pace of the group, not necessarily your comfort level. It's always fine to sit out a section, turn around, or ride your own pace — nobody on a ride worth doing will give you grief for that.
Gear and prep
Wear real gear. Bring more water than you think you need. Tell someone your route and expected return time, especially for solo rides pulled from this site. Carry a way to call for help where cell service is unreliable — a lot of these routes are exactly the kind of remote where that matters.
This is a hobby site, not a safety authority
Nobody running this site is a professional guide, mechanic, or search-and-rescue service. Use good judgment, and if something about a posted route or ride sounds off, trust that instinct over a random internet post.
